有问题的英语怎么说?

去年夏天，我在伦敦的一个咖啡厅里，看着一本英语语法书，突然有个顾客问我：“Excuse me, how do you say 'there is a problem' in English?” 我愣了一下，心想，这不就是“there's a problem”嘛。可当我告诉他时，他摇摇头，说：“No, no, it's not that. I mean, how do you say it in a way that's more direct or formal?” ，我突然明白了，他想要的是一个更正式、更直接的表述。于是我又想了想，说：“Well, you can say 'There is an issue' or 'There appears to be a problem'.” 他听了满意地点了点头，然后继续他的咖啡时光。等等，还有个事，我突然想到，为什么我们不“Problem”呢？有时候，简单直接不也是一种美吗？

这个问题简单，英语里说“有问题的”就是 "problematic"。比如，你看到一篇论文或者一个报告里有些数据让人怀疑，就可以说：“This data is a bit problematic, I think we should double-check it.”（这个数据有点问题，我觉得我们应该再核实一下。）哈这种说法挺实用的，用起来也很自然。
